Turo Paid Ads Campaign

Designing high-performing digital ads for Spring Break and Summer 2024

I collaborated with Turo’s marketing team to design high-performing Facebook and Instagram ads specifically targeted at Facebook and Instagram audiences in Canada and the USA.

Role: Visual Designer
Tools: Figma, Adobe Photoshop

Project Overview

Objective

Turo aimed to boost visibility and bookings across North America during Spring Break and Summer 2024. My task was to design visually engaging creatives for Facebook and Instagram that captured the excitement of seasonal travel and resonated with Turo’s audience.

Strategy

Creative Direction

  • Capture the freedom and spontaneity of road trips and getaways

  • Use bold typography, vibrant colour palettes, and crisp imagery

  • Develop a mix of ad formats to maximize reach and performance

Key Goals

  • Increase click-through rates (CTR) and user engagement

  • Drive app installs and bookings

  • Maintain brand consistency while making the visuals seasonally relevant

Creative Formats Included

  • Facebook Static Ads

  • Instagram Story Ads

  • Platform-native A/B test variations

Spring Break Ads

I used travel-focused photography with people and landscapes to create an emotional connection with the audience. I also chose brighter colours and played with typography, adding pops of colour to key words for extra impact.

Summer Ads

For the Summer campaign, I focused on using vibrant, vivid, and saturated colours, especially for the cars, to capture attention and evoke a sense of excitement.

I also drew inspiration from summer elements — for example, one of the Instagram Stories was inspired by a lemon popsicle, adding a playful, seasonal touch to the creative.

Results & Impact

While exact performance data is confidential, this project helped strengthen Turo’s brand presence on social media during peak travel seasons and showcased the power of playful, seasonal design.
